SYMPOSIUM ON ACUTE PULMONARY INJURY AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH

25th -26th of November, 2019

Location: Dresden, Germany

The fourth INSPIRES Symposium

The prevalence of acute pulmonary injury in the intensive care unit is high and current treatment is only supportive. Clinicians and scientists hope that new pharmacologic, biologic, and genetic approaches will improve the understanding of pathogenesis and pathophysiology, the treatment, as well as outcomes of ARDS patients in the near future.

We herein announce the Fourth International Symposium on Acute Pulmonary Injury and Translational Research – INSPIRES 2019 – which will take place under the auspices of international and national scientific societies and will review the current state of research in this field. Speakers have been selected among worldwide recognized leaders in basic and translational research related to acute lung injury.

During this symposium, international senior as well as junior researchers will give inspiring talks about their latest topics. As a unique feature of INSPIRES, all attendees and presenters are encouraged to engage in lively plenary discussions at the end of each session. The practical programme includes workshops on extracorporeal lung support and electrical impedance tomography, as well as a visit of the Pulmonary Engineering Group Dresden´s laboratories. At the symposium’s conclusion, attendees will be familiar with the evidence used to support the current recommendations for the treatment of critically ill patients with ARDS. More importantly, they will be introduced to the current basic and translational research that is likely to change the treatment of this disease in the coming years.
